This Privacy Policy explains how SitterLinks ("we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use https://www.sitterlinks.com (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this policy.
Information We Collect
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. If you sign in with Google, we also receive your profile picture and Google account ID through OAuth. If you register as a babysitter, we additionally collect bio, hourly rate, city, ZIP code, years of experience, and availability.
Child profiles. Parents may save private profiles about their children, including nickname, date of birth, gender, allergies, dietary needs, medical notes, special needs, emergency contacts, and other care information. Child profiles are private to the parent. Information is shared with a sitter only when the parent attaches a child to a booking, and only the fields the parent explicitly chooses to share.
Bookings and reviews. We store booking dates, times, duration, notes, payment metadata, and review content.
Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers. We store payment metadata such as Stripe payment intent IDs and connected account IDs.
Communications. We send transactional emails (e.g., booking requests, confirmations, payment receipts, password resets) via Resend.
Cookies. We use a session cookie to keep you signed in.
How We Use Information
- To operate the Service: matchmaking, bookings, payments, reviews
- To send transactional notifications related to your account
- To prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information.
Third Parties We Share With
- Google — sign-in (when you choose Google OAuth)
- Stripe — payment processing and payouts
- Resend — transactional email delivery
- Neon — database hosting
- Vercel — application hosting
These providers process information on our behalf under their own privacy commitments.
Your Rights
- Update your account information from your dashboard
- Delete child profiles you have created
- Request account deletion or data export by emailing support@sitterlinks.com
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws like GDPR or CCPA, including the right to access, correct, port, or delete your data. Contact us to exercise these rights.
Data Retention
We keep your account data while your account is active. After deletion, we may retain limited records as required by law (e.g., financial records for tax compliance).
Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for adults (parents/guardians and babysitters). We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13. Information about children is provided by their parent or legal guardian and is treated as the parent's data.
Security
We use industry-standard practices including HTTPS and hashed passwords. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes
We may update this policy. The "Effective date" above will reflect the latest version. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice.
