Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of SitterLinks (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms.

What SitterLinks Is

SitterLinks is an online marketplace that connects parents with babysitters. We facilitate discovery, booking requests, payments, and reviews. We are not a babysitting service. We do not employ babysitters, conduct background checks, verify credentials, or supervise the care of children. Bookings are arranged directly between parents and sitters.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By creating an account you represent that you can form a binding contract under applicable law.

Account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate information.

Parent Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for vetting any sitter you book and for the safety and supervision of your children. Verify references, licenses, and qualifications as you see fit. Information you choose to share with a sitter (including child profiles) is your decision and your responsibility.

Sitter Responsibilities

You represent that information about your experience, certifications, and availability is accurate. You are an independent provider and not an employee of SitterLinks. You are responsible for complying with applicable laws (including tax and insurance) and for the care you provide.

Bookings and Payments

Bookings are processed through Stripe. SitterLinks charges a 10% platform fee on the total amount of each booking. Payouts to sitters occur after successful bookings via Stripe Connect. Refunds, disputes, and chargebacks are handled per Stripe's policies and applicable law.

Reviews

Reviews must be honest and based on real bookings. We may remove content that violates these Terms or is illegal.

Prohibited Uses

• Use the Service for unlawful purposes
• Misrepresent your identity or qualifications
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Attempt to circumvent platform fees by arranging payment outside the Service
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to overwhelm the Service

Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we suspect of fraud or harm. You may delete your account at any time by contacting support.

Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THE QUALITY, SAFETY, LEGAL STATUS, OR CONDUCT OF ANY SITTER OR PARENT.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SITTERLINKS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) FEES YOU PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $100.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold SitterLinks harmless from claims arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your bookings with other users.

Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the new Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved by the state and federal courts located in California unless required otherwise by applicable law.
